Hi, I have the same issue... I have Graphire 4 and was pretty satisfied with it until Maverics. Recenty I wrote to Wacom user support and got this reply:
Thank you for your e-mail.
I am terribly sorry for we no longer provide any driver version that would allow you to use your Graphire 4 tablet with the latest Mac system version. The technology gap between these two items is unfortunately too large.
In case you are interested in upgrading your old tablet in order to enjoy a 20% discount on the purchase of some of our newer tablets, you have the possibility to fill in a form allowing you to get a discount voucher.

Graphire 4 is 2007 I guess. Wow, that's as if my iPhone 3G (2008) couldn't even connect to my MacBook anymore because of Maverics... I can't believe that realitevly simple positioning HW is so hard to make new drive for. So disapointed by Wacom. So much 😟

I've been searching for a while for drivers for Graphire 4, but nothing seems to work. For example it says 'A supported tablet was not found on the system'
UPDATE: Guys! I just found a way for it to work! You download the drivers from this website, http://www.wacom.eu/index4.asp?pid=29 instead of the American website.
UPDATE 2: To open pref pane you have to find System Preferences in Applications, then right click and click get info. Then under Version, checkmark Open in 32-Bit mode. After that just relaunch System Preferences and you're good to go!
