  1. Info and downloads for Yamaha pro audio gear: mixers, processors, power amplifiers, speakers, and more.
  2. MIDI is a standardized format. If you can't plug it in and it works, then it isn't outputting MIDI. Mac OSX in 2005 was tiger, so there is a shot that that software will work. But strictly speaking, just try plugging it in without any software first before you try anything else.

I was able to use it with my other computer before it died which had windows, and it was great. I'm currently running OSX Yosemite version 10.10.3 on a 2009 Macbook.

Here are the drivers available for it online:

As you can see, the Mac driver was last updated in 2005. Can anyone think of any way I might be able to do some kind of work around?

EDIT: FOR ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM I FOUND A SOLUTION! http://download.yamaha.com/usb_midi/

Even though the latest driver they have there for Mac is for OS X 10.9, it works for Yosemite! Not sure about newer OSes but give it a try!
